The
2001 *WASBE Conference in
Lucerne
was
like a dream. It is hard to believe the
scenic splendor, gorgeous concert hall,
wonderful receptions and outstanding array
of wind music from around the world that
was literally at our doorstep for a full
week. The train station that was
immediately next door to the concert hall,
we found ourselves just a few steps away
from the hotels. Overlooking Lake Lucerne
and the striking architecture of the Hall
of Culture, which housed our venue, it was
hard to imagine a situation that could
possibly be better.

Irena
Grieg komponierte dieses Werk für
Sinfonisches Blasorchester
(Höchstklasse) für den
*WASBE-Wettbewerb 2001 - inspiriert von
einem Bild William
Turners.
Sie gewann den 1. Preis. Das Werk wurde im
Juli 2001 an der WASBE-Konferenz in Luzern
durch das Blasorchester der Stadt Luzern
uraufgeführt.
